| The term EmeraldCoast (area known as Monti di Mola) indicates the coast line of Gallura in the province of Olbia-Tempio in Sardinia that reaches from Golfo Aranci along the coast through Porto Cervo, the resort areas of Baja Sardinia, Cannigione and San Pantaleo.
The tourism region included in the municipality of Arzachena and Olbia covers a coastal line of about 20 km.
In 1962 the Emerald Coast consortium was born by the will (?) of the Ishmaelite Prince Karim Aga Khan. The area, until that time almost desert, was considerably changed and received progressive impulse in holiday industry in Sardinia, transforming it into an important and popular resort area with excellent facilities for accommodation and entertainment with trendy nightlife and prestigious restaurants where there is a continuous alternation of appointments with international jet set, sporting events and parties.
The heart of the Emerald coast is Porto Cervo, part of the municipality of Arzachena, in the province of Olbia. The famous resort Porto Cervo is built around the natural harbour. The tourism area offers all necessary services to anyone looking for a special holiday.
There are many residential areas in the surroundings of Porto Cervo, such as Romazzino, Cala di Volpe, Piccolo Pevero, Pevero Golf, Pantogia and Liscia di Vacca, and the joyful towns of Cannigione, Baja Sardinia, San Pantaleo, Porto Rotondo, Golfo Aranci which are situated nearby.
The coast offers many bays, small sandy beaches, headlands and many islands, such as L'isola dei Cappuccini with almost 3000 square meters located about 500 meters to the northwest of the EmeraldCoast peninsula. Cala Bisce in the north-east of Sardinia, located to the south of Caprera, is part of the international park of Le Bocche di Bonifacio and only a few kilometres from Porto Cervo.
